FAQ
THE MOST COMMON QUESTIONS
A. In creating each one of these pieces for example in the case of using certain wires other than true sterling silver, gold-filled, or copper, I try to combine wires with components I know will age in a complimentary fashion. Other than that, it is recommended you take care of your item as best you can keeping it away from soaps, chemicals, or other things that can further along the tarnishing process.
A. For most pieces made from gold-filled, sterling silver and copper or brass:
1. Sterling silver – sometimes a piece may be quickly dipped into a sterling silver solution with great result. Sometimes depending on the tarnish it has developed it may be necessary to further clean with a gentle brush with toothpaste, or a solution of baking soda and salt in boiling water.
2. Goldfilled – a quick dip in a jewelry cleaner and rinse. Also you can create a paste with dish soap, baking soda and a bit of water.
3. Copper – There are some copper cleaners out there that may work. For me I used a bit lemon juice and salt with success. Or just a sterling silver cleaner with a quick dip technique so as to not damage stones.
Lastly, if you are unsure as to how to clean your piece, I can do it for you for a minimal cost of $10-$15 depending on the piece. Just send me an email to arrange for this.
